"I can't speak highly enough..."

"To whom it may concern,

I constantly recommend Raumati Sands to all my friends and family.

I have had reason to visit Wellington from Hawke's Bay at regular interval over the last 18 months and was advised to 'perhaps try Raumati Sands' - the result being I now stay there every time with different members of my immediate family!

I can't speak highly enough of the hospitable and helpful manner in which we are treated and the well appointed units are always immaculately clean.

With it being an easy 40 minute drive to the heart of the city we prefer being in a stress free and beautiful environment which for us, is easily accessed from the north."

"The rain spits down on the boot as we pack it with a ludicrous amount of luggage for just one night.  The southerly nips at the children - the owners of most of all the offending baggage - as we make them comfortable in their car chairs.

Just past Tawa, and already halfway through the bucket of car-trip toys, the clouds start giving up the chase. By the time we reach Paekakariki, the rain and a lunchbox of snacks are a fading memory.

The Raumati Sands Resort welcomes us with a beautiful, sunny autumns day. Just 50 kilometres or so from Wellington, and we feel like we're on holiday.

And it's not just the weather making the good impression. "Mummy, Daddy, I love our new house," my almost-three-year-old enthuses as we explore our accommodation. "I want to stay here forever!"

Me too. Our new house-for-a-night is a stylish two-storey, two-bedroom, two-bathroom, furnished and serviced unit just a short stroll from Raumati Beach - which I can see from the downy embrace of the main bedroom's king sized bed.

The second bedroom has twin beds and looks out on to the car park and the path to the communal heated pool, hot tub and barbeque. As we set up the provided portacot for our baby, our eldest squirrels away her toys in a variety of drawers and cupboards. Content with the results of her nesting, she addresses her next need: "Mummy, is it lunchtime?"

In the large lounge with three couches - one of which folds out into a double bed - she and Daddy unsuccessfully channel-hop the nine Sky options for kiddie shows while baby sister crawls around playing obstacle course with me as I rustle up lunch. The spotless floor is the course and she's the obstacle.

The kitchen is fully and logically equipped with everything from pots to plates, dishcloths to a dishwasher - though something a little less classy and a little more plastic would have come in handy for the littlies.

Activities for rest of the afternoon include running in the lapping waves, getting warm and dry, soundly sleeping, and reading quietly on the deck next to a magnificent towering protected Kauri tree so as not to wake the soundly sleeping.

After a cuppa with new owner managers Heather and Tom Rodden, we resist the temptation of the available babysitting service and take a short walk to and around the shops, cafes, restaurants and take-aways of Raumati village, before settling on one for a delicious early dinner.

One giggly spa bath for the girls and one surprisingly comfortable night of sharing a king bed with a wriggling daughter later, and I'm being spoiled for Mother's Day.

After a continental breakfast (ordered from reception the night before), it's my turn to luxuriate in the upstairs bathroom and its spa bath, its underfloor heating, heated towel rails and heated mirror. Bliss.

The rain is back as our kids and paraphernalia are returned to the car. The rejuvenating mini-break is over all too soon, but first just a quick, decadent stop at the Nyco Chocolate Factory."

"...high quality accommodation at very reasonable and competitive rates."

"To whom it may concern:

Raumati Sands Resort.

NZ Nail Industries is a corporate customer of Raumati Sands Resort. We have been using Raumati Sands as our Wellington and Kapiti Coast accommodation over the past three years.

The accommodation and facilities at the resort are of the highest standard. They are always kept very clean and in peak condition. The accommodation is very spacious with considerably more room than you would normally expect. Standard units include two bedrooms and bathroom upstairs. Downstairs there is a lounge area, kitchen, dining room and toilet facilities.

Some of the special features at Raumati Sands include the outdoor area with a swimming pool, spa pool and barbeque area. The units are warm in the winter months with excellent heating. There is underfloor heating in the upstairs bathroom which is a nice extra. The units have modern TVs with a DVD player and a home theatre system. Raumati Sands is within 100 metres of Raumati beach so it is very accessible for a walk along the beach. There are also a number of Restaurants in Raumati and many are within easy walking distance of the accommodation.

Tom and Heather are fantastic hosts and have always made me feel very welcome on all my visits. They are always happy to help and have assisted NZ Nails with our accommodation requirements as a corporate customer.

I would personally recommend Raumati Sands Resort for any corporate customers looking for high quality accommodation at very reasonable and competitive rates."

The guest book

All accommodation is in 2 bedroom, 2 storey apartments. The apartments are well equipped, and include a patio area, and have their own laundry facilities - very useful when you are touring. The beach is only 2 minutes walk across the road, and there is a really excellent fish and chip shop just around the corner.

I would just like to say that I was very pleased and impressed with the apartment that we had, it was clean and very modern and just wished we stayed longer.
My family enjoyed our stay there and would definitely be staying there again sometime this year (possibly Christmas at this stage). I have also recommended your apartments to friends and family. I would definitely rate you an A++.
